What this site is

This is a reference and travel resource for the city of Medina. It is not affiliated with the Saudi government, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, or any tour operator. Where official procedures apply — visas, Rawdah permits, Nusuk bookings — we describe them and point to the official channels, but you should always confirm current rules through those channels before travelling.

Editorial approach

• Accuracy first. Historical dates and religious details are drawn from standard scholarly and reference sources. Where accounts differ, we say so rather than smoothing over the difference.
• Respect. Medina is a living sacred city for well over a billion people. We write about its religious significance plainly and without sensationalism.
• Practicality. Logistics change — hotel prices, transport times, visa rules — so time-sensitive pages are reviewed regularly and dated.
• No clutter. No intrusive advertising, no auto-playing media, no thin filler pages. Every page is meant to answer a real question.

On religious content

We aim to present the significance of sites and events as understood within mainstream Islamic tradition, while noting that some practices around visiting tombs and historic sites are the subject of scholarly discussion. We describe what visitors will encounter and the etiquette expected of them, and leave matters of religious ruling to qualified scholars.

Sources

Our history and site pages draw on classical biographies of the Prophet (sira) and standard historical works, together with contemporary references on Saudi Arabia, the Hejaz Railway, and the expansions of the Prophet's Mosque. Practical information is checked against official Saudi sources including the Nusuk platform and the Haramain railway operator. Corrections are welcome and taken seriously.
